My Favorite Cheeseboard Cheeses from Trader Joe's

Cheeseboards are a holiday staple. With so many cheeses to to choose from it can be overwhelming to know what to buy. I’ve created this guide of my favorite cheeses that work perfectly for building a holiday cheese or charcuterie board. I hope it’s helpful for the next time you are at Trader Joe’s and you’re not sure what to buy!

Cheddar & Gruyere Melange

I love an english cheddar and I love the buttery flavor of gruyere, so this semi-hard cheese is a perfect fit fo a cheese board. It balances the flavors and brings a nutty, creamy, buttery, mild finish. I love to pair this with my apple butter or it’s strong enough to go with gherkins and a spicy mustard.

Triple Cream Cambozola

This soft and creamy pasteurized cow’s milk cheese is cross between a Gorgonzola blue and a Camembert. It’s full fat and a has a mild blue flavor. I prefer this to cheese to a traditional gorgonzola because flavor is much milder and it pairs perfectly with fig, pears, and apples.

Toscano Cheese with Black Pepper

I always like to add cheeses that bring an extra flavor and this one is fantastic. Trader Joe’s describes it perfectly, “combines the robust, nutty characteristics of aged parmesan with a creamy farmstead Cheddar" the bonus is it’s incrusted with cracked black pepper so it adds a spicy and another level of flavor. This hard cow’s milk cheese is the perfect addition to a cheese board. And it really goes well with salami and an olive tapenade.

Mini Basque Cheese

This one is an ALL time favorite! It’s a firm sheeps milk cheese with a nutty, creamy, gentle flavor. I use it on every cheese board because it’s so fantastic. Also it pairs will with my fig fennel bay preserve.

Saint Andre

This is the king of all cheeses in my book. It’s a triple creme cow’s milk cheese. It’s rich, buttery, and soft and it’s incredible on it’s own with a crusty baguette
