Dutch Baby on the Traeger
The Dutch Baby, in my mind, is the easiest breakfast that pleases everyone! When my oven went out for a few weeks I turned to cooking everything on my Traeger, including breakfast. I’ll never go back to cooking my dutch baby another way!
Dutch Baby
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup whole milk
2 large eggs
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
Your favorite topping: Fresh fruit, powdered sugar, or maple syrup
Preheat your Traeger to 425°F for 15 mins. While heating, make the batter.
In a blender add flour, milk, eggs, sugar, vanilla, and salt. Blend on low until smooth. Set aside.
Place a 10-inch cast-iron skill on your Traeger grates and add the 2 Tablespoons butter. Close the lid and let the butter melt for 5 mins.
Once butter is melted, with a hot pad, swirl the pan so the butter coats the bottom and side. Then add your batter to the hot pan. Close the lid and let cook 15 to 20 mins until puffy, brown, and perfectly cooked.
Remove from grill and serve warm with your favorite topping.
